Δfoxtrot’s CSS

It’s a roaring development for my blog. Not only does the update to WordPress 2.5 impress me. I was quite lucky to have my redesign coincide with it. It’s all plain CSS crafted as a replacement stylesheet for WordPress.com’s Sandbox theme.Grab the current CSS file here
Notable «Features» of my CSS Skin include:
- The starting configuration was heavily inspired by Yahoo UI stylesheets, allowing me to bypass a lot of browser glitches
- The width accommodates Videos (unlike prologue which I would use, if it could)
- Particular Attention to lists (inspired by Prologue)
- Also to nested lists
- Custom design for downloads, warnings and announcements, based on commonly used class names
- These can be nested, e.g. a warning inside a download
- Silk Icons by FamFamFam (CC license: BY 2.5)
- A custom admin bar
- My favourite: You get 1, 2 or 3 columns, depending on your screen size. On a 1600 pixel wide display you see three columns wasting no screen width. On a 800 pixel wide screen you get, tumbleloglike, one column.
- Released under the GPL
To Do
- Admin Bar menus
- Image alignment
- Do something to preserve readability of headings and meta against light backgrounds (semi opaque png?)
- Unordered lists in ordered lists (and the other way round)
- Nested Blockquote
- First Paragraph styling
- Private posts
- Image Galleries
- Headings (partly)
- Some parts in the comments section
- Textboxes and butto
- Archive views
- Author archive
- Whatever you tell me to
And when it shines on Webkit and Gecko browsers I’ll try to support IE

Lovely CSS. Found your blog through your comment in the forum. I love the simplicity! :) I really want to use it and probably will. Thanks a lot for making the CSS accessible to everyone. Very nice of you.

You’re welcome. Please note that there is still a lot to do about it. I didn’t even take a look at it in IE.

Oh who cares about IE and its users? ;)

Tis a highly spiffy design. HIGHLY spiffy. And yes, coincidental timing, but good for you.

I use both Firefox and IE7; I can say for the front page at least, that your site looks identical in both browsers. Very nice!

It’s a nice set of code, I found the blog just like Ruhi.
I can’t help feeling that the post area could do with being at least the same width, if not wider than the sidebar though. If you look at the sidebar, definitely in a single post view, there’s lots of white space while the main post window feels cramped into 200 px.
Obviously, it’s your choice and I know you didn’t ask for my opinion. I’ll just slink off back to my cave now…

Actually It’s 450 pixels, just enough to accomodate a Youtube video.
The sidebar is just as wide to degrade gracefully beneath the main area on narrow displays

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I’m using your customized WP admin bar. I hope it’s fine with you. Do let me know if you want me to include a link to your blog or something. Thanks :)

That’s totally fine. A link would be cool, of course.
